I was not feeling my WFH office today so I’m camping under the dining room table. Change of pace.
Not much sewing progress to share this week. But! My undergarments for my star trek uniform are arriving today! Here’s hoping I hear the delivery person so I can sign for it and I don’t have to wait another day.
I did get the panels for the dress cut. Haven’t started assembly yet since I wanted to have the undergarments first. Here’s the front pinned together – back panel sand sleeves are sitting over on the table.
I did also get my wig for wedding Leia but don’t have any pics at the moment – I ordered thursday and it arrived Friday! Now that’s fast. I had hoped to be able to finish it up yesterday, but I needed to curl it first. Saturday I got it set up in some big chunky pin curls (the hair was too long for curlers) and dunked it in some hot water to set. Since then it’s been wrapped in towels on the kitchen table drying. It’s so much hair that here almost 48 hours later it’s still damp. I wish I had one of those old fashioned hair dryer things I could put it in.
But once it’s dry and brushed out, I do have the braid to attach to the front – picked up the loose braiding hair for that Saturday too. then I can get the flowers and trim sewn on and she’s finally done.
Also did start working on designing the plaid for the Nadja dress. It’s a work in progress.
And related – went to sephora yesterday for some brown eyeshadow and also came out with a new lipstick for Leia. I’m still using my Besame Lucy lipstick for her, but since that’s sold out and not being restocked I know once it’s gone, it’s gone. Saw a shade in Rare beauty that looked nice so I got it. I really like it. I’ll post pics next time I use it.
Saturday night I recorded a few tiktoks. Not many but just some content for the next week. Frustratingly the one I worked on longest (trying to get a transition to line up right), I posted Sunday and after 2 hours it had about 50 views. So I privated it. I didn’t work that long for tiktok to not even give me crumbs. I’ll repost it later. But at this point I’m really just making tiktoks so I can repost them to IG for money. Hate that but i’ll ride the train as long as IG keeps paying out.
So that’s kinda it for this week. We didn’t do anything otherwise. Oh Chase did have a procedure done Wednesday, nothing serious but I did have to drive him since he was going under anesthesia. When he booked it I asked him to book it for later in the day so I didn’t have to take off work and he did. We sat in a small waiting room together for about an hour while waiting on him to be called back – they were running behind. He got called back and I got sent up to a much larger waiting room. Lots of other people waiting in here too. Sat in there for about 2 hours and watched every other person get called away or leave. Finally I was the last one left in the whole waiting room LOL. The nurse came out to tell me he was done and she was funny, she just came out calling my name instead of “driver for so-and-so” and was like “he’s finally done!” He was their last patient of the day LOL.
Next week… getting my hair cut for the first time since before dragoncon. I’ve gotten lazy about it. Hoping to make some good progress on the trek dress too.
